It's a cold winter's afternoon...

...and you are bored so what do you get up to?  Well I decided to clear out a couple of my stash drawers that hadn't seen the light of day in yonks and came across a cushion panel that I couldn't even remember buying so I raided my 'to alter' drawer and found a hessian bag waiting to be changed and set to work.

The result is this....

I added some guipure daisy lace that I had been sent from Turkey and a bead trim that I love.  I decided the dogs were called Princess and Cupcake hence the silver charms on their collars and then made the charm hanging from left over pieces of fabric from the original cushion square and some chain and charms.

A close-up of the charm hanging....

Well by now I was on a roll and knew there was another hessian bag in the drawer and another piece of Westie fabric I could utilise.  I mixed these with two of my current favourite things - Maya Road rose ribbon and guipure lace - and made another bag, this time adding a couple of flowers I made from netting just to finish it off.  Here's the completed bag...

and a close-up of the flowers...

I love both bags and will use them a lot.  The next bag project will be fairy bags for the little ones but for those I need to do some shopping.

New Toys...

Have you tried Marianne dies???  They work perfectly in the Cuttlebug and I had already purchased a few so when new ones came out I had to buy a few.  They arrived this week and I have been having a little play.

the butterfly die is stunning and beautifully detailed - a double layer, glittered outlines and a few crystals all added to the die cuts to bring the image alive.

the lace doiley die with seperate flower centre has so many uses.

as for the cameo - I think this has to be one of my all-time favourite dies and yes I am having a slight addiction to guipure lace right now.

it would seem that apart from being addicted to Marianne dies and guipure lace I am also currently addicted to easel cards.

Children's hair clips and holders......

....my daughter-in-law makes clips for little girls hair.  They are really pretty and she also sells pretty holders to keep the clips on when not in use.  She has her own website and if you'd like clips or holders for your little girls or granddaughters why not have a look at

The first is Talya's

and the second is Sheryl's

and I have enough fabric over to make two more - just need to find the time.

A Little bit of 'Me' Time

Decided to ignore my To Do List - it'll get done (eventually) and spend a little time crafting something for myself.  This bare tissue box holder has been sitting in the cupboard for a year waiting to be altered and at last it has been.

The four sides....

and the top

A few smiles from the past week....

Grace was sitting on the floor watching a video - the next minute she was sound asleep so I just made her comfortable and left her there but.....

a couple of minutes later her buddy decided to join her...

Grace had a lovely sleep while Harley kept guard over her.

Both the girls got into the mood of Halloween and were excited to go trick or treating
