New Year - New Beginnings
I think I'll actually get round to entering some challenges this year so the Crafty Ribbons Blog Challenge of 'New Beginnings' sounded like a good place to start. The metal bar has been sitting in my stash for a while and obviously was meant for this card. I've made a cross over card of a sort, instead of completely crossing over each other I laced the fronts together and then slipped two tags inside the pocket. It was a fun card to make.
and I used something new that I received over the holidays - angel glitter.
I also entered in the Krafty Kool Kats challenge at

and finally for this year.....
a smaller version of the hessian bags for Grace and Mya. This is Grace's bag and the Little Red Riding Hood fabric came from Japan. The red velvet ric rac and the heart ribbon both came from Crafty Ribbons.
The applique Princess coach was from eBay.
to make sure there was no confusion over which bag belongs to who I added the Lil' Sister ribbon (again from Crafty Ribbons) to Grace's bag and a large black and white button which I won over at Crafty Ribbons.
For Mya's bag I used some guipure lace I had in my stash and the ballet dancer ribbon again came from Crafty Ribbons. The applique ballet dancer was from eBay and the French ballerina fabric again from Japan.
to the back I added Big Sister ribbon and a large pink and white button both from Crafty Ribbons.
I think all little girls love a bag so hopefully these will be loved.

A door hanger...
...what fun it is to take a sheet of grungeboard, a few gems, a couple of rubber stamps and your ProMarkers and turn them into this.....
here's a closer view of the flowers I made backed by a couple of peacock feathers stamped, coloured and angel dusted...
and my new Tilda stamp...
isn't she gorgeous. Then I just had to use my new Sew Easy tool so that I could add some hand stitching..
I have so enjoyed this project that I am off to make a couple more of them.

I had another Crafty Ribbons challenge to complete last week using their new range of Christmas ribbons. Here is what I made.
A Christmas Bauble using lots of glitter.
A Snowflake card, again using lots of glitter on the medallion stamped image.
and
A Poinsettia card again colouring a medallion image and cutting a poinsettia from the gorgeouse ribbon.

Been absent without Leave
can't believe I haven't posted to my blog for so long - oops!!!! Mojo seems to have deserted me but I have been doing odds and ends. Still summer is nearly over and I'll get back to some serious crafting real soon. For now though these are the cards I made for Crafty Ribbons new range.
A trio of Twins.
I wanted to use the same elements and make 3 completely different cards.

more ribbon projects
some more lovely ribbons from Ali, first I made this little box. The stem and leaves is ribbon but it was white so I tinted it using my Promarkers.
I used four different ribbons to brighten up this plain cotton bag.
and finally used two different ribbons to edge this card and again the stem/leaf ribbon. I also added one of my glittery butterflies.

Strawberry Shortcake Ribbons...
....this is the latest range from Crafty Ribbons and I have been asked to make a couple of things using them. Well they seemed the perfect partners for Strawberry Shortcake herself and as I had a lot of the SS decoupage papers I decided to make a wall hanging featuring the ribbons and the cartoon character. I even managed to use all the colours in the ribbon range.
and then a card featuring just one of the colourways of the ribbon but making a matching border for the other side of the card and starring a Whiff of Joy stamped image.
I just hope that Ali likes them now.

Crafty Ribbons Challenge
I was a little lost with this challenge as I don't 'do' Easter. But some head scratching and stash searching and I came up with the 2 cards and little booklet below. Hope Ali likes them.

Take 3 Sheets of Card.....
my Martha Stewart punches arrived yesterday and I simply had to have a play. So three hours later 3 sheets of card, a length of velvet ribbon, 6 tiny pearls and a lot of silicone glue became this little box.
I calculated the size of the finished box by measuring the punches I wanted to use on the side, that way I knew they would fit perfectly. I then enhanced the corners by cutting extra fans and glueing two together to go on each corner and stand away from the box. The flowers and butterflies were made using the smaller punches and layering. The little centre mat on the top was made using the 'all around' method. Now I can't wait to make another one using the other set of punches.

The reason why I really shouldn't buy...
....any more ribbons :o)
this is the newly arranged ribbon wall. On the clips are narrow ribbons which are in colour groups - with the exception of the rings either end which are my newly aquired heart and bling ribbons. In the scottie drawers are all my wider ribbons - and each drawer is rammed full. I've wound the ribbons on to cards for ease use and minimal creasing. The big boxes are part of my rubber stamp collection. The mini suitcase is crammed with 'special' ribbons - basically ones I didn't know where else to put them.
a closer view of my scottie drawers and yes the colours are in alphabetical order (I know thats a complete anorak trick) and the ribbons tied round the scotties' necks shows which colour is in which drawer - well I like them.
then of course there are the ribbon boxes that I decorated, they are full of narrow ribbons that I use for quick embellishments and again the colour of the box denotes the colour tone inside. These sit on the shelf over my desk for easy use.
There are more, which I completely forgot about - there are several shoe boxes stuffed full of wools, cords, raffia etc, they live in the bottom of a wardrobe - hence they get forgotten and rarely see the light of day.
Do you think I need to join ribbons anonymous? Is there any hope for me? Am I diagnosed as a ribbon addict?
