When a Wreath is not a Wreath.....

it's a mobile....

I saw a photo of a wreath made with these paper hearts and have to say I was not impressed but I could see potential.  So I set to work and made 12 hearts (dead simple) and set them out on my desk in the shape of the wreath.

No!!!!!!!!!!!  it quite simply didn't work, too big and not terribly substantial.  So I took 4 hearts away - ah that's better but what do I do with the spare hearts - ping light bulb moment - make a second tier.  But then it's not a wreath - it's a...........

............

mobile!!!!!

Well that sounded simple enough but the mechanics of joining the two tiers so that they hung straight was a bit thought provoking.  But after looking at it from all angles I worked it out and worked out how to hang it.  Now how to make it pretty and to get movement in it.  Firstly I printed off 4 of my Tilda stamp images and then I flipped the images and printed 4 to go on the backs.  Coloured and glittered them and fitted them to the centre of the mobile.  It still needed something else so I cut and glittered 8 little butterflies and fixed them to the mobile using thin strips of acetate so that they looked as if they were flying and voila.......one mobile.

It's there in black and white......

....last week I bought the Joanna Sheen Daisy and Friends cd and my friend Gloria sent me some more of her Tilda stamped images so it would be very rude not to play.  I printed off lots of the Daisy digi stamps and decided to go for colour groups.  Dusted off my ProMarkers and set to work on the first set of black and white .....

Mojo is back in town...

and I can't seem to stop crafting.  Have to make the most of it while he is around.

It's fun time..

... as I am way ahead of myself with stuff for my craft group it has been play time in my craft room this week and there should be a few posts over the next week or so.  Today there are these cute little lollipop covers that I made for the littlies.  These are so quick and easy to make and you can use up all those little scraps you had been saving.....

still crafting

I've been concentrating on getting some of the 2012 challenges prepared for my craft group this month and have managed to get up to and including July's under my belt - sorry no pictures for now as they are all strictly hush hush.  So haven't really managed much other crafting but did manage a couple of cards for my stock....

I simply had to have a play with this stamp as soon as it arrived.

I'll try to get the others photographed during the week.

New Year - New Beginnings

I think I'll actually get round to entering some challenges this year so the Crafty Ribbons Blog Challenge of 'New Beginnings' sounded like a good place to start.  The metal bar has been sitting in my stash for a while and obviously was meant for this card.  I've made a cross over card of a sort, instead of completely crossing over each other I laced the fronts together and then slipped two tags inside the pocket.  It was a fun card to make.

and I used something new that I received over the holidays - angel glitter.

I also entered in the Krafty Kool Kats challenge at
