Grace in her Bumbo

These pictures of Grace sitting in her Bumbo just cried out for this scrapbook page.  What I would call a no-brainer.

Take 3 Sheets of Card.....

my Martha Stewart punches arrived yesterday and I simply had to have a play.  So three hours later 3 sheets of card, a length of velvet ribbon, 6 tiny pearls and a lot of silicone glue became this little box.

I calculated the size of the finished box by measuring the punches I wanted to use on the side, that way I knew they would fit perfectly.  I then enhanced the corners by cutting extra fans and glueing two together to go on each corner and stand away from the box.  The flowers and butterflies were made using the smaller punches and layering.  The little centre mat on the top was made using the 'all around' method.  Now I can't wait to make another one using the other set of punches.

Tzedakah Boxes

Tzedakah boxes (charity boxes) can be found in all Jewish households and it is tradition to put money in them before Shabbat each week.  Now that Mya has started pre-school we want her to understand more of the traditions so I have made two tzedakah boxes for her and Grace - one to be kept here and one for them at home.  I bought two blank wooden money boxes and this is the one for the girls to take home.

the one to be kept here had to go with the decor though so this is what I came up with.

A Gift for my S-i-L

I want to give my s-i-l a gift voucher for her birthday in April and decied to pop it into a box.  So I bought a blank wooden heart shaped box about 6" x 6" and played with it.  Here's is the end result (and yes her name does start with B), I hope she likes it - I really don't want to part with it.

the book started it's life as beer mats, but I played with them and this is what I ended up with.

Fortunately I remembered to photograph the inside before I bound the book - so much easier to photograph - and here are the pages.

here's the second giveaway, a canvas I am rather chuffed with.

and the third is this embellished initial B

and for number 4 we have this quote plaque

Photo suprises for 70th

It was Arn's special birthday last week and I had ordered a special (to us) painting.  It is called BESHERT which is Hebrew for perfect match, soul mate, fate, destiny.  It is a very powerful word and we have always said we were each others BESHERT so you can understand what it means to us.  The roots of the tree form the word beshert and the trees combine in a heart.  The English words TO LIFE and LOVE are intwined in the branches on the right and the Hebrew equivalent words grow out of the branches on the left together with 2 wine goblets.  The more you look at the picture the more you see in it.  I have had it mounted into a heavy black frame.

The kids then went for a photo session (dragging a not very willing me along) and had this photo blown up and framed from them

and this one from the littlies

and this one from the two boys

we have had to have a major re-arrange but they are now up on the walls.
